Complete guide for VM6 Networks VPS users using the PufferPanel Template
If you’ve deployed a VM6 Networks VPS using our PufferPanel Pre-Configured Template, your system already includes:
- PufferPanel installed
- Java pre-installed
- Firewall ports open (25565)
- System optimized for game hosting

Step 1 — Log in to PufferPanel
Open your browser and enter:
http://YOUR-VPS-IP:8080/
Log in using your admin credentials provided after deploying your VM6 Networks PufferPanel VPS.
Step 2 — Install the Minecraft Server Template (Required)
PufferPanel does not include Minecraft server templates by default. You need to install them before creating a server.
- In PufferPanel, open the Admin Panel
- Click Templates
- Click Import Template
Choose any template you want to install:
- PaperMC (Recommended)
- Vanilla (Official Mojang)
- Spigot
- Forge (Mods)
- Fabric (Mods)
- Bedrock Edition

Step 3 — Create Your Minecraft Server
- Click Servers
- Click Create Server
- Select the template you imported (Paper recommended)
Important configuration options:
Name: Your server label
Server Path:
/srv/servers/<servername>
Java Version: VM6 template includes Java 17+ (supports all modern MC versions)
Recommended RAM Allocations:

Add to the startup arguments:

Step 4 — Start the Server
Open your server → click Start.
The first startup will:
- Download the server JAR
- Generate the world
- Apply the EULA automatically
Watch progress in the Console.
Step 5 — Connect to Your Server
Open Minecraft → Multiplayer → Add Server:
YOUR-IP:25565
Your VM6 VPS template already allows this port.
Step 6 — Installing Plugins (Paper & Spigot)
Plugins add extra features like EssentialsX, WorldEdit, LuckPerms, etc.
Upload plugin .jar files into:
/srv/servers/<servername>/plugins
Method 1 — Using PufferPanel File Manager
- Open your server
- Click Files
- Open the plugins folder
- Upload your plugin JAR
- Restart the server
Method 2 — Using SFTP
sftp root@YOUR-IP
Upload to the plugins/ directory → restart.
Step 7 — Installing Mods (Forge / Fabric Only)
Mods are different from plugins and only work on modded servers.
Upload mod files to:
/srv/servers/<servername>/mods
Important:
- Mods must match the server version
- Players must install the same mods
Step 8 — Editing server.properties
Open:
server.properties
Important settings:
motd=Welcome to my server
pvp=true
difficulty=hard
max-players=20
view-distance=10
online-mode=true
Restart to apply changes.
